When a Repair Makes Sense: If your gutters are relatively new, mostly seamless, and only have isolated damage—such as a single leaky corner or a section pulled loose by a falling branch—a targeted repair is the most cost-effective solution.
When a Full Replacement is Necessary: If you have an older, sectional gutter system with seams every 10 feet, it will inevitably continue to leak. You should also consider a full replacement if the metal is visibly rusting, the troughs are severely dented and holding standing water, or the system is consistently overflowing because it is too small (e.g., a 4-inch or 5-inch gutter trying to handle a massive, steep roof).

- Disadvantages: While durable, standard-gauge aluminum can be dented by severe hail or a heavy ladder leaning against it.
Galvanized Steel Gutters

Steel is significantly stronger than aluminum or vinyl, making it a great choice for areas that experience heavy ice accumulation or frequent impact from falling tree limbs.
